Sister Act The Musical

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Dominion Theatre, 8th April 2024

Based on the 1992 film, this version is a even more speculator, and a star-studded cast to match! Beverley Knight plays Deloris Van Cartier, and her voice is wow! Her version of "Take me to Heaven" and "Fabulous Baby" blew the roof off the theatre. Her top piece for me had to the christmas meal when she found out what they was eating, then reaction and then finding out they was actually going to fast for the rest of the day!

Seeing Ruth Jones as Mother Superior was one of my theatre highlights of the year. I love her in Gavin and Stacey, and for the first few minutes it was hard not to keep thinking of Nessa but i soon saw her as the Mother Superior. I was shocked how well she can sing, and her version of "I Haven't got a Prayer" was really good. They even gave a small different change to her characters backstory to accommodate her welsh accent.

Lesley Joseph as Sister Mary Lazarus was the perfect choice! Her rap during "Raise your Voice" was brilliant!

Sister Act The Musical is more than just a show; it's an experience. It's a reminder that sometimes, the most unexpected people can bring about the greatest changes. It's a story that tells us it's never too late to find your voice and make a joyful noise.

So, whether you're a die-hard fan of the original film or a newcomer to the tale of Deloris and her sisterhood of singing nuns, "Sister Act The Musical" is a must-see. It's a production that will have you rejoicing in the aisles and proclaiming the power of music and community. Don't miss your chance to see this sensational show – it's a habit you'll be glad to pick up!
