Blackgang Chine Opening Day 2025: A Magical Start to the Season!

To say I was excited for the opening day at Blackgang Chine would be an understatement, and it certainly did not disappoint. I did not sleep a wink the night before and caught the first bus to park. I began the trip by viewing the park from the old adventureland, and I was so overwhelmed with happiness that I nearly cried had to get off the bus.

Upon arriving at the park entrance, it was to see the smuggler and dragon once more. Even more enjoyable was reuniting with my two friends, Matt and Stefan. The twenty-minute wait for the doors to open felt like an eternity, but it was worth it. After one of the hardest decision i have ever made ,which land to explore first, I chose Area 5!

The entire Area 5 looks amazing. Every dinosaur worked, with all movement and sounds. The new walkways look good, does seem strange not walking the old ways but will get used to it. BUT coming round the corner from the stegosaurus and seeing the new T-Rex area, i was shocked how good it looked! The new jeep being chased by the newly rotated T-Rex looks amazing. I love the new logo on the front of the jeep as well.

After exploring the rest of the Area 5 and the Giant Bug Walk, it was time to see the Jolly Robin and it didn't disappoint, it looks spectacular! I wasn't able to ride it on the day but just seeing it was wow. I loved the new sign and cant wait to see it on merchandise!

The rest of the park was immaculate, you could really see the amount of work done over the winter season. Every animatronic was working in Rumpus Mansion, one of my favourite attractions! All the rides worked when i rode them. Extinction is still my favourite ride in the park. I try to make sure my eyes are open when going over the top, so can see the amazing views of the park and the island!

The fairy castle looks really good now its been refurbished. The paint work makes the castle look brand new, and the Sleeping Beauty scene inside has had a refresh!

One of the other parts of the park i was really looking forward to seeing was the new Nurseryland! Its strange to walk in a new entrance to the land, but it now has a story with the owl, from Fairyland, greeting you with a dodo. All the models in the land have had a lick of paint, and the toadstool has had his usual updated year painted on! It did seem strange though not having the viewpoint looking over the back of the island.

You can really see the effort that has been in the winter season to make the 2025 season the best one yet! The park looks amazing, the staff are all so positive and enthusiastic . Laura, Matt, Rachel and all the rest of the staff just made the day even more special! Other places on the island need to visit the park to see how to train their staff! I got on the bus to leave with tears of happiness but i have several more trips planned to the best theme park, with Summerfest being the one i am most excited for.

If you only visit one theme park this year, make it Blackgang!

My only tiny tiny negative, it would be nice to see Underwater Kingdom finally get some of the Blackgang magic, with Giuseppe finally moving again at some point!
